T.Ara Bridal Couture Hair Accessories, Veils and Jewellery
I grew up surrounded by luxurious fabrics and trims and used to watch my mum make the most exquisite gowns and dresses. She taught me how to sew and I often made my own clothes and accessories, from as young as 11 years old. It wasn't until my own wedding, when my mum and I both designed and made my wedding dress and accessories, that I imagined making a living from doing what I love most.
T.Ara (like Tiara), represents our initials as co-founders (Tahseen and mum Tohid). Ara was my late grandmother's middle name. She was entrepreneurial in spirit and encouraged me to pursue my dream of designing heirloom accessories. I was fortunate to have all the start up resources for designs in place, thanks to my amazing mum. I work through her treasure trove of collected materials and jewellery to create one of a kind stand alone accessories. The raw materials are always the starting point for new designs, and combining a love of making with the desire to lease new life into old treasures, gives me so much satisfaction.
The luxurious fabrics and jewels of yesteryear evoke the nostalgia of vibrant histories and romantic lost eras, which is a refreshing escape from the mass production of our times. And even though vintage materials are a prominent feature in most T.Ara Bridal designs, modern supplies also accompany many pieces, offering that ‘something old, something new’ in an enchanting and timeless style.
I am so passionate about creating heirloom pieces that will hopefully be cherished on special days and continue to be cherished for years to come, which is why I love working on custom designs with brides to incorporate sentimental pieces to be part of such a special occasion.
